These are example applications. Individuals and businesses can contact us about other projects too. Suitability depends on the material, condition and access.

Cleaning and stripping

Remove rust, paint and other surface buildup without blasting grit or chemical strippers. We test the material first to check the finish.

Laser cleaning

We assess rust, corrosion, mill scale and marine buildup for laser removal. The material, condition and test patch determine the settings and finish.

Work to assess

  • Steel, stainless, aluminum, cast iron
  • Machined and ground surfaces
  • Weld seams cleaned prior to inspection
  • Marine fittings and engine components

Example applications

  • Classic car panels and chassis
  • Engine blocks and gearboxes
  • Stainless fabrications and handrails
  • Historic ironwork and machinery

Coating removal

We remove paint, powder coat and other coatings before repair or refinishing. A test patch shows how the coating comes off and whether selective removal is practical.

Work to assess

  • Paint and primer
  • Powder coat
  • Other coatings, assessed individually
  • Adhesive and sealant residue

Example applications

  • Body panels and motorcycle tanks
  • Marine metal fittings
  • Machine covers and metal fixtures
  • Architectural metal before refinishing

Surface preparation

We clean oxides and residue from surfaces before painting, bonding or welding. Tell us what finish or process will follow so we can assess the preparation needed.

Work to assess

  • Pre-paint and pre-coat preparation
  • Weld preparation on plate and tube
  • Bonding and adhesive preparation
  • Surface residue removal

Example applications

  • Resprays and powder coating
  • Fabrication before welding
  • Metal components before bonding
  • Repairs on site

Welding and repair

Laser welding for sheet metal, damaged joints and worn parts. Access and material condition determine how much disassembly is needed.

Laser welding

Laser welding uses a focused beam to join metal along a narrow seam. We assess the material, joint fit and access before quoting thin sheet, visible welds or assembled parts.

Work to assess

  • Metal type and condition
  • Sheet thickness and joint fit
  • Access to the joint
  • Required finish

Example applications

  • Sheet metal and panel repair
  • Stainless enclosures and tanks
  • Metal brackets and housings
  • Visible welds on finished work

Weld repair and build-up

Send photos of damaged joints or worn areas, and tell us how the part is used. We assess whether welding or adding material is practical before confirming a repair.

Work to assess

  • Cracks and damaged joints
  • Worn areas
  • Options for adding material
  • Condition of previous repairs

Example applications

  • Vehicle and marine components
  • Machine parts
  • Metal fittings
  • Older parts with limited replacements
